The average daily time spent using the internet in Turkey is quite high at 6 hours and 57 minutes, although this figure has decreased by 26 minutes since 2023. Smartphone usage dominates, with Turks spending an average of 4 hours and 7 minutes online through their mobile devices, compared to just 2 hours and 50 minutes on desktops.

Social media plays a significant role in Turkey's digital landscape, with 57.50 million active social media users as of January 2024, equating to 66.8% of the total population. Popular platforms include Facebook (34.35 million users), Instagram (57.1 million users), YouTube (57.5 million users), and TikTok (37.73 million users aged 18+).

Mobile connectivity is widespread, with 80.69 million cellular mobile connections in early 2024, exceeding the total population at 93.8% penetration rate. This high number can be attributed to individuals maintaining multiple mobile subscriptions for personal and professional use.

The internet user profile in Turkey is diverse, with significant representation across all age groups. However, the youth aged 25-34 and 16-24 are considered the most active digital population. Gender disparities exist, with 91% of men using the internet compared to 83% of women in 2023.
