With over 34.5 million inhabitants in 2023, only around 75.5% of Peruvians have internet access, one of the lower rates in Latin America. Despite increasing mobile connectivity, with 59% preferring mobile internet, Peru has one of the lowest rates of mobile internet traffic in the region.

As of 2023, over half of Peru's web traffic still comes from desktop devices. However, rural areas have seen an 84% increase in internet penetration from 2019-2022.

Facebook remains the most popular social network in Peru, with over 80% of the population using it. It has the 5th largest Facebook audience in Latin America. However, TikTok has exploded in popularity the last two years, amassing 22.29 million Peruvian users to become the 2nd biggest social platform, increasing competition.

Internet Users are expected to grow to 32.9 million by 2028, with an online penetration rate of 90.7%. This suggests a steady increase in internet accessibility over the next few years.
