Zomato’s Transacting Customers Hit 24.1 Mn in Q2 FY26 - Highest Ever, Up 16% YoY

Zomato’s active monthly user base hit a record 24.1 million in Q2 FY26, up 16% YoY, driven by Gold loyalty and repeat orders. Growth now stems from frequency and retention, marking a shift from scale to depth in India’s food delivery market.

Zomato’s average monthly transacting customers (MTCs) reached 24.1 million in Q2 FY26, marking its highest active user base to date and a 16.4% year-on-year growth. This surge reflects a mix of frequency recovery among existing users and renewed traction in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

The strong momentum follows the success of Zomato Gold and Everyday Meal programs, which have boosted repeat ordering and customer stickiness. Growth has been consistent for the last three quarters, with a notable acceleration post-FY25 as consumption stabilized and discretionary spending rebounded.

While new user addition remains modest, Zomato is effectively deepening engagement with its core base through loyalty perks, cross-sell integrations (Blinkit, Hyperpure), and personalized discovery features.

What It Means:

Zomato’s performance signals the maturity of India’s food delivery market - where expansion now depends on frequency, not footprint. The company is successfully transitioning from acquisition-driven growth to retention-driven monetization.

The uptick in MTCs, alongside steady Net Order Value growth, shows a healthier demand mix and validates Zomato’s long-term thesis: that India’s top 50 cities can sustain recurring digital consumption when paired with strong loyalty ecosystems.

Going forward, Zomato’s challenge will be expanding this engagement model to new urban clusters while maintaining profitability and delivery efficiency.
